  • 12:30-2:30pm- Session 2 of “21st Century Quakerism”

Friends Circle, by Bobby Buskirk21st Century Quakerism is our “homegrown” update of the Quakerism 101: a basic course for adults curriculum developed by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (1992; 1998).

Rex Ambler’s The Quaker Way: a rediscovery (2013) is our primary source for bringing the study series into the 21st century.

This adult series for Quakers and those curious about Quakerism  offers discussions and first-hand experiences to help each of us explore what Quaker worship and practice are like for ourselves.

  • In Session 1 on April 15th – We introduced the aims of the series, got to know each other, and experimented with Quaker Queries and Worship Sharing.
  • In Session 2 on May 6th – We will explore the origins of the Quaker quest in 17th century England and how that quest continues now.

Each session will have some reading in advance. The sessions will combine guided discussions based on the readings with group sharing of personal insights and experience.

We still have copies of Ambler’s book for those who need one (donations invited).
